If you support capitalism and free markets, you shouldn't have a problem with globalization and it's consequences. You lost your job and your standard of living, but somewhere, in some developing nation, someone got that job and the corresponding rise in standard of living. Perhaps their standard of living didn't go up quite so high as yours dropped, but, hey, that's capitalism. Take comfort in the thought that somewhere (probably in a boardroom), someone is pocketing the difference. Maybe you're getting the benefit as a shareholder?!

You left out the name of the Father and the unending chain of signification. I know Lacan has never been that popular in the U.S. (he was a frog, after all), but I think he has a great bearing on the topic of DESIRE.

I don't think this is OT at all. This just points out how the administration is less interested in national security than in gaining power/trashing our rights. I consider Novak a traitor for compromising national security. He's been revealed to be a propaganda tool for the Republican party.

One thing I hate more than IT/MIS consultants that dabble in the occult is IT/MIS consultants that use a proprietary Occult System (OS) like that peddled by MS. When I was a young IT/MIS Consultant, we only had 10 SEPHIROTH (note the spelling, dumbass), and WE WERE GLAD TO HAVE 'EM! Why can't we see more posts like this one? Do you work at Circus of Books? (I'm not even sure if CoB rents videos or just sells magazines. I just remember hearing similar stories from Pablo when he used to work there.) Now that we're on the subject of porn, I should disclose that recently I've been spending a lot of time watching C-SPAN 1 & 2, in addition to my usual large doses of cable news. Why did I waste so much of my TV viewing life watching Comedy Central?
