It gives private companies the exclusive opportunity to develop and probably PATENT methods to clone human tissues, organs, or body parts, if not entire humans. Talk about saving the gravy for private industry.
As a matter of fact, CWRU, or at least the Western Reserve University part of it, has a distinguished history. It was there that Michelson and Morley carried out their famous experiment showing that the speed of light was invariant. There is even an award offered in their names.
