  1. Re:Multiple keyboard setups would rule... on Review Of Upcoming Projection Keyboards · · Score: 1

I fully agree. I have to work in three different languages. English and Slovak are OK, little changes, nothing special. But French layout is way different. It is AWERTY keyboard, with M key instead of ;key. Awfull experience. I have to write for half an hour, then I get used to it and write about half the speed of normal. So if I could visually control different layouts it would ease a lot of things.

  2. Vinyl market is not dying on Inside One Of the Last Vinyl Record Manufacturers · · Score: 4, Informative

In United States that may be true. In Europe, the situation is not the same. Electronic music and DJ culture have strong influence on producers of vinyls. Factory in Czech republic, in the city Lodenice is known for one of the best qualities available on the market. Even Madonna's SPs made from coloured vinyl were produced there.

My own experience (from central european point of view)
    1. Geographic range - no problem, unless I travel to U.S :(
    2. Sound quality - it's been a big argument for operators, some three years ago. But now, it is not a problem at all.
    3. Dropped calls - when I activated my latest phone (I changed job, got to buy own phone) CLIP was in basic package. Service costed US$ 1 per month and after few months of use it is for free. So it is very easy...

...and as operator you have to find advantages for customer - ie. playing games, e-mail, browser...

While working for a company that sold modems I was doing nearly the same thing. I visited many IT sites, argumented on discussions, helped with linux drivers for winmodems (there are still requests for them, after a year that I no more work for company, comming to my e-mail). And yes - it helped to build the image of brand between linux users here in Slovakia. And not - it was not my direct task, I just knew a lot of things, so why not help?
