At some point (and that point was years ago), making references to it every time you see either the word shark or the word laser becomes old. It's really not funny.
Yeah I was thinking along the same lines, but then I saw him tell Telstra to f*** off with regard to the National Broadband Network, which was a good call.
Still, no point having a good NBN if it's censored.
Unfortunately it never made main-stream news. Hardly anyone really knows about it. There were protests held in capital cities but even those events barely made the news.
These politicians are n00bs however, having been in opposition for 11 years, and it's taken them less than their first 12 months to start screwing things up.
I for one look forward to the day when the physical world is reduced to being as fluid as intellectual Property is today.
Have a Nano factory in your garage(call it a replicator for you Star Trek fans) where you can download the latest gadget and it is produced before your eyes.
Sure, but imagine eating your replicated ice-cream sundae and then finding out it had some DMCA-inspired virus included in it.
Mmmm DMCA'd sundae!
What bugs me the most isn't the geometric resolution but rather, the chronologic resolution (more simply, frames per second). I've heard the arguments that say the human eye can't see more than blah blah... but I know from personal experience that when you're watching a large screen and the camera pans, individual frames become noticeable and you can't focus on objects as easily as when the camera is stationary. 100 fps would be a nice upgrade especially for CGI-oriented movies like Pixar's.
Basically, you're suggesting:
government -> academics -> wikipedia
That's just asking for trouble/bias IMO.
If you don't think child molesters are safe to have back in public after they've done their time, push for mandatory life sentances with no parole.
The harsher the sentence, the greater lengths a crim will go to to avoid sentencing, i.e. murder.
Once again, the subtle humor gets looked over but the bleeding obvious get +5... Glad to have set you up :)

That's slashdot in a nutshell.
Economies of scale: South Korea has 493 people per square km.... Canada has 3.2 people per square km.

Sorry, I meant 'DRM', not 'DMCA'. Damn this replicated keyboard.

Higher resolution will be great, but the question for me is will they allow widescreen videos?
hahaha, I hope you remember you said that once movies move to 25,600 x 16,000 @ 100 fps
You only change your underwear once a week?
Here I am changing my undies every day like a sucker.
Okay you got me... I re-read your post... mod gp +funny!
"I guess I should have known better than to ask the question here on Slashdot".
Wow, are you trying to set some kind of record?
