I would agree with extending it from 50 to 70, because if I do something really profound (like Disney's Mickey mouse) and then 50 years down the line it's suddenly public property, I don't want to be alive when that happens!
At least make it the expected age for people so they can take peace that they'll take it to their grave with them.
Well, if he didn't know the exact time and if he actually blasted the ass the old-fasioned way, then he would have been arrested on Firday and spent his last days in a jail cell.
Well, it is their network and they can do what they like on it.
However, in their AWP it has -
"Interfering with or disrupting another information technology user's work as well as the proper function of information processing and network services or equipment."
Which could nab you in the ass.
I think that they are toughening up on it because of the potential something like that could have and the fact that they don't really want something like that on the network.
You think it might be that he didn't EAT OR DRINK or maybe a prior medical condition that he knew about want wanted to spend his last few days blasting some ass.
What's going to happen to the chip from here though?
It would be interesting to see where it goes from here in the world. Although it is unlikely that it will pull up the roots of Intel anywhere else in the world it is still going to prove interesting.
I have a rather old Nokia 5120iA and it is able to use both analoge and digital networks and auto-switch between them (with digital as the default). It ain't got any nice features that come with new ones, but it makes phone calls (text messages and games, but that's it).
This is the sort of crap that everybody gets to hopeful in. It starts planning and then there is a war about a trivial issue, the things collapeses and w00t, all companies invloved are back at each others necks.
I'm soon going to be going to uni and I'm thinking about doing a double-degree (BS and BA) because I have many interests in many things and just want to learn it.
For example, I have my huge interest in Computers, Engineering and stuff like that as well as a huge interest in Graphic Design, philisophy and that stuff. So instead of choosing one or the other - do both!
Trekkies (much like myself) may go a bit psyco over this, but just to point out - (each point corresponds to the one in the article)
-In "Wrath of Khan", Khan didn't want to "seize the power of life itself", he just wanted revenge on Kirk. In "Final Frontier", I'm not sure who he's referencing to, but I don't see any power seizure there. Also in "Generations", he didn't want like, he just wanted to return to the nexus.
-In "Search for Spock", he wasn't really 'dead' (or it depends on the definition of dead when it comes to Vulcans). In "Generations" Kirk wasn't dead, he was just in the nexus. In "First Contact" who returned from death? Picard was never dead when it came to the borg and I don't remember any resurection scenes.
-Can't really argue with this one I'm afraid.
-Kinda the same with the last one.
But still, ST was great, and although it's getting a bit thin now (everybody hates Rick Berman and Brannon Bragga now), it was good, I have all the old eps on DVD and will always be remembered as good (except by you Star Wars things) until Gene died and B&B stuck their asses into it.
It's more or less just a word (like ebook and etoaster), probably not going to go anywhere.
It's only because of the sept stuff that people have become more receptive to people preaching about doomsday stuff comming through all means (mail, phone, the internet) and is getting new laws (or whatever you call them) passed to allow more of an invasion of privacy in the name of 'anti-terrorism' (which is another word).
As far as I can recall there haven't been any major cracker attacks in ages and the thinking that a Middle Eastern (which has become the sterotype for terrorists) guy is going to kill us all with his 56k modem connection is just plain stupid.
You know what kind of mental image I am getting from this -
A hung of rock hurtles towards Earth. Suddenly a continent blows itself off the Earth as a huge airbag pops out and quickly inflates to provide a cusioning for the rock.
My main problem with this is where are they going to get the materials/$$$ for such a project. The good thing about shooting up a nuke is that we already got plenty of those lying around (good ol' arms races).
Wrox press books are informative, but with something like 50 writers on the same book, trying to get the same style, you end up with a monotone encyclopedia of stuff.
I would reccomend dummies books to any idiot. They are only useful to someone who has no previous knowledge of a computer and have found them little use.
I would reccomend nearly anything from Sams Publishing, especially the Teach Yourself ______ in 21 Days (not the 24 hours ones).
I'd like to hear about any NZ meetup that occured. If any:(
Too bad that our litte we-got-no-armed-forces country is ignored down here most of the time.
I realise that, but just keep some people pissed off at you for a bit longer is still funny . ;)
And when you die it automatically gets transfered to next of kin (for their lifetime)?

Wow, the government asking for our comments. When was the last time anything came out of that?
It may get some people putting time into that and the other 99% will send messages that are short, to the point and inflamatory.
Slowly but surely it's catching up on me. ;)

I'm not too sure about spam law here, but most spam to me comes from the US and therefore prosecuting is hard.
But if I gather up all of my spam, at $10 an email.....let's just say that Bill Gates won't have a chance of catching up to me.

I am anti-Palladium, but look at it -
The biggest company in the world is pioneering this thing - when was the last time anybody stopped them?
The majority of CPU makers are with them - Competition, what competition?
The music and movie industries are with them - and we ALL hate them, but we don't stop them
The general public is with them - come on, the general public is too stupid to realise the truth.
So, what do we do to stop them? Most of the ways that I think up are acts of war and terrorism.

You said textbooks, can't you go for a bit of each, practical excises from one book and the pracise exams from another?
It seems that numerous industries and goverments are now going with open source/standards/free stuff (what was that thing in Peru? -???).
Excellent Stuff.

The worst part is that the currect government is going to win the electiion today.
