I quads, I've seen 1 that would be capable of flying a 20 lb package 10 miles, it wouldn't be able to make the return trip, most of the flight weight is battery. Current lipo tech is fairly weaksauce in an application requiring flight times exceeding 20 minutes. Factor in wind conditions and air temps and you get into shady territory when calculating distances.
I've had to ground my quads in temps in the mid to lower 40s F due to odd behavior from a cold battery.
The current level of tech in rc is just not there for that type of use.
It's interesting, as a techie I feel constrained and restricted on tablets and even my smartphone. I prefer the jiggery pokery of tech vs the walled garden approach. Oddly I've not had a virus or malware infection on my computer since the late 90's.
The problem may become winnable if websites cease using infected ad hosts for revenue at the cost of their users sanity and security, let's face in todays internet most infection probably stems from infected advertising.
I see it less of a hobby, I see it as lazy asses that can't be fucked to get off the couch and walk 5 feet to a light switch. Seriously aside from turning lights on/off randomly while on vacation which your neighbors still know no ones home, does it take more time to break out your phone or tablet connect to the website and turn your lights on/off vs getting up and walking to the switch?
I say the hobby is not the reason due to a majority of users probably have it a) to be the first to have it because it's cool or b) to show it off to company. Which if it's b you just blew the security again as word will spread "Fred has an automated house and can work every light in his house from anywhere in the world".
So a suicidal person or one thought to be suicidal with then definitely commit suicide being forced to read Facebooks suicide prevention documentation.

Buying cough syrup is probably not as important as say a Presidential election, so why do I need to provide ID to purchase something that most likely every adult American purchases at least once per year and not for the election?
Voter ID, a drivers license or state issued ID card, which I believe if you are over 18 it is against the law to not carry photo ID. I know in my state it is illegal to not carry a state issued ID.
I often wonder how those without ID buy cigarettes, alcohol, cough syrup or cash checks. Even the ACA exchanges require you to provide ID, so that blows that out of the water.
This is the most dangerous time in my living memory to be an American citizen. The government has beaten us, as a people we are divided on something as simple as government. When you get both sides finger pointing at each other and saying "but he/she", we can't see the slight of hand. We are at a point where it's not the same country I was born and raised into, in some ways this is good as a people as a nation we should learn grow and evolve. It seems we are regressing in our freedoms and some if not most don't see it. This is how it works, it's just like feature creep by the time it's spotted it's far too late to change it. Those that make the same claim I have are labeled as wingnuts, it's only a conspiracy theory if untrue.
For something they say takes hundreds of years to breakdown.
On the other hand we are told about the plastics problem yet in the ocean they are surprised the plastics are breaking down as fast as they are. http://news.nationalgeographic...

When the app randomly pops up with zero other apps running how would you suggest locating the offending app?
Ok I can concede that, but why should a minority of us suffer due to a majority that aren't capable to make their own choices?
Let's face it the day is probably approaching where we will have near zero control over our computers.

And those working or earning their money illegally?
Would also ensure those making their money illegally now pay taxes.
Civil Forfeiture.
Convenience I'll give you security is debatable.

Or would this be like camping in a freakin portopotty?
Yes as we've seen time and time again from the US gov those things are far more important than lives.

It would go along way to explain the hollow moon theory. At least it's more believable.
Mod UP!
Typically we vote for turds for free.
Your keyword "healthcare" I want universal healthcare, I don't want a mandatory insurance policy.
With ACA to lower costs, they just might!

Mine still does!

99 solutions to existing problems and he's solved none.
You have low standards.
I was going to comment about Obama, but I see like me you realize R or D they are both after the same things.
Amazing how quick people are to point the finger at Bush, remind me again who just extended it? expanded it?
