My wife wanted to know what I was making so much noise about, as I frantically shook the mouse and pounded the keyboard trying to get out of the conveyor-belt gurney thing, as I watched the soldier ahead of me have his legs cut off, big needles jammed into his brain, and so on.

Anyways. I'm really glad I downloaded it. Well worth the 25 cents I spent on a blank DVD.

It's also true of the ones who realize that FireFox has security flaws too, and know enough to not have some false sense of security by using it.

There are those who just plain don't like it, don't want to deal with the various weirdo rendering bugs (no they aren't all because of the latest MS conspiracy theory - there are some actual bugs), compatibility issues, or so on. There are many who have to because the policies at their place of work prevent the installation of third party software.

There are many who just cant be arsed to download it, since it really has nothing new to offer (except the aforementioned false sense of security).

They realize a good firewall and common sense already give them all the protection they're going to get. They aren't going to fall for phishing schemes. They know it's perfectly fine to use Outlook so long as you aren't running every attachment that some random email from a random sender has attached.

They're pragmatic and are more concerned with the task at hand then a bunch of rhetoric on slashdot.

It's mod-bombing.. I have a pretty lengthy foes list, you see, and most of my posts get a few negative mods just by virtue of I made them.

And I'm all for wasting the mod points of people who don't really deserve to have 'em.

Seriously, watch my post history.. It's funny.. A post that was +5 whatever will eventually get smacked with a buttload of "overrated" "troll" and "flamebaits". I make my share of overrated, trollish and flamebait posts, sure, but sometimes I honestly try to post an opinion, or some info, etc.

I've even had posts DELETED. Yeah, they actually do it. Of course I can't prove it, the posts are deleted. Usually on the more vitriolic type of stuff I say once in awhile. I think it's really fucking cool that Taco and his crew consider some of my opinions that threatening that they take the time to pause the sailor moon dvd and brush enough cheeto crumbs off their fingertips to delete my post. Nice to know you care, daddypants.

And the coolest thing about it is, I get enough upmods to keep me hovering between good/excellent karma.. Neat, huh? In fact, I'm at excellent right now, so I'm going to use my karma bonus to waste three misallocated mod points on this complete non-sequitor post.
