I dont believe you can feel a lag in the order of microseconds while gaming on a HDTV console/TV because at 1080p you are displaying 60 frames per second which gives you one frame per 16 miliseconds. 1 milisecond is 1000 microseconds so the only noticeable lag would be such that delays the rendering by over 16 000 microseconds.
Thus if a scaler delays the rendering of a frame by a couple of hundred microseconds you will not notice the difference!
