I drove out west a few years ago. Took 140 out through southern Oregon. It was just BLACK. No moon, no lights, nothing but starlight.
Once I got up in the mountains a bit I pulled off and just looked at the stars. It was amazing. I must have spent 4 hours out there just looking up.
Pilot was suicidal, and had been reported many many times before. This was an inspection flight, and one of the reasons it was being filmed was that it was his last chance. This was not Pilot Error, it was pilot idiocy.

Sorry, maybe I am getting a bit long in the tooth. I can still dust off the intellivision console and really enjoy a game of sea battle or utopia and walk away feeling like I really enjoyed it.
No Need to save, or worry about if I am playing enough for to keep my stats fresh. Just play the game, kill some time, and have some fun.
I miss gaming like that. I know it still exists, but it seems few and few between titles.
There are quite a few molds and other items that can cause serious respiratory distress for those of us allergic to them.
Fast acting too. When I got off the plane in Australia and was exposed to new pollens I my body had never experienced, I was horizontal on a gurney getting anti-histamine treatments within 30 minutes!
Well, our 2nd most publicized "Sexting" case finished yesterday here in Cincinnati. In a stunning case of "The guy must be the bad influence" the girl who took the pics was given probation and ordered to write a paper, her friend who sent the pics was not charged, and the guy who RECEIVED the pics was put under house arrest.
All minors, and yes... you read that right.
Interesting information to be sure...
But how do these micro organisms interact with Human cells ?
Can they survive down here ?
Are the body snatchers on their way ??!!
Surely, we should welcome our new microscopic overlords before they take
over our minds and......**gurgle**
Have they made any cough or sneeze yet?
You know, just to err on the side of caution, I better shut down my seaport. You can never be too sure.
The satellite will now be re-purposed to study carbon and methane emissions that need to be observed to determine the current threat level regarding activity in R'lyeh.
"Initial indications are the vehicle did not have enough [force] to reach orbit and landed just short of Antarctica in the ocean."
I'm sure the ancient ones are happy to have some new tech to plunder.
Yep, we had that problems for ever at big E.
I used to patrol the ratio reports manually every night (back when we had a mere 10,000 or so active users) and watch for massive ratio spikes.
I got most of them with the banhammer, but it was labor intensive. I am certain I could have scripted it, or Saz could have done it as well, but I actually enjoyed dropping the hammer of justice on leechers./Vamp on Big E
Buy more of the same? That still have the same problem?
I really don't want to bail on Seagate as I have many of their drives, and I have never had one fail (As opposed to a bad batch of WD's that cost me greatly two years ago)
As I said, I don't want to bail on the brand, I want them to fix the problem. I am just starting to worry that they really can't do it.
I would like to know where the hell the firmware update IS?
I have opened a ticket with Seagate for each drive. Followed the directions (which were linked to here last week) in detail, and I have heard back NOTHING.
Not even an acknowledgment that they have looked at my tickets. I got a "your ticket was created" email, and that is it.
Seagate is getting very close to losing a lot of customers.
How quickly people forget that AVG was the same company that spammed the internet for 2 weeks pretending to be IE, and then deleted user32.dll thinking it was a virus after a bad update from their servers.
Nod32 for the win. now.
(And I still have 5 valid licenses for AVG that I PAID for and will not use)
"Most" deaths from Katrina were preventable with in-place systems, had they been properly utilized. Not even expertly, just properly.
We do a significant amount of business in Indonesia. Language barriers aside, you are talking about "What could have been, had this been installed (or even created" because some of those places are no where NEAR networked even for basic phones to work!)
I do not disagree that there SHOULD have been an early warning system, and that it would have saved lives. Problem is, there was not. So hard to compare the two.
It looked so very much cooler before some asshat "Urban Street Artist" decided it would look better with their garbage sprawled all over it.
If not done with the owners permission, said "artist" should be arrested and charged with destroying public art works, or just shot... that works for me too.
What part of "Most of the deaths of Katrina were caused by failure to plan, failure to listen, or failure to implement disaster plans. " do you see as my not blaming the people who stayed.
If there had not been a piss poor evac plan for the prior storm (badly botched in execution) most people probably WOULD have left.
The botched evac was fresh in many minds, so they did nothing.
I would not say that.
For the most part, there was no way to save most of the victims of the tsunami.
Many of the victims of Katrina could well have been saved had their been ample planning and communication in regards to a disaster that they knew was coming sometime.

I bought a Kawasaki 24 volt drill/driver at Sams club 2 years ago. (TOTAL garbage, but thats another thread)
My GF used her sams club card for the member verify, and I used my cc for the purchase.
About 4 months ago I got a post card, addressed to me, saying that it has been recalled for fire hazard reasons. I never filled out a warranty card or anything.
Had the used the member card, it would have been sent to my gf, at her place.
People think driving an electric car is green -- but then fail to take into account that those high performance batteries are highly toxic and need replaced every few years.
I'll start taking you "Green is BS" people a little more seriously when you stop using your FUD.
The Prius has been on sale for 9 years, and they have YET to replace a battery for wear or lack of charging issues (source toyota, look it up yourself).
Oh, and Nimh batteries are almost completely recyclable in environmentally safe ways. NiCads are nasty, but they are in use less and less.

And then they built that super Wal-Mart 1/4 mile from my house. Now I am lucky if I can see Sirus or anything of a less than amazing magnitude.
Poor kids, I wish they could see what they are missing.

B.O.B was always my fav. Well, Maximillion of course though .. For the evil ending win.
There are no girls on instant messenger... You know that!
Ah... that little event over off Blue Rock huh?

They just silently closed mine as well. Thats it. Case closed in more ways than one. Seagate just lost my business.
And then what?

Troll? Really?
Did you look at the pic at the link I posted?
It looks like hell with graffiti on it, it looked like art before.
That makes me a troll? I've never been a troll before.
I really wanted to see a bowling ball return in that scene somewhere.
