  1. unsubscribe links? on SpamSlayer - should we DDOS spammers? · · Score: 1

I don't know about you, but a majority of the spam i recieve has an unsubscribe link that goes to a website, or ip address, that doesnt exist, or is too slow to use in the first place. What's the point of DDoS'ing a site which doesnt work very well in the first place.

But to answer your question, on whether or not we should DDoS the next guy we don't like, Yes. He floods our inboxes with spam, lets flood his server with packets.

  2. Re:Outstanding on Longhorn to Require Monitor-Based DRM · · Score: 1

If people dont want to "buy" "this" then they won't want to buy the premium content either. If they do however, enjoy forking out money for what is presumably over-the-internet movie renting or the like, then they probably will not mind buying a new monitor either, if they havent already. This wont affect the larger internet user pool who will not be interested in buying premium content.

I agree. I see this move as a shameless attempt on AMD's part to increase the 'buzz' surrounding their products. On tomshardware, I saw an article whose title read, "If you cant beat them, sue them" and the first thing that came to my mind was this suit. The article wasn't about this suit, but instead about Grokster. Still an appropriate title, in my mind.
