Definitively ! Let it brew 12 hours, overnight, on the counter, and you get a delicious coffee. Some friends thought it was flavored coffee since the taste is so different and smooth. It tastes like coffee smell... Luc

Transfer visual content !! Otherwise your demo will be boring. Go the Supercomputing conference, and you'll see boring stuff. Anyway, put a 10Ge interface or several 1Ge interfaces in a Opteron or Itanium server, and you should be able to fill your 2.5Gbps. An Itanium can fill up over 5Gbps. Luc.

My experience with P-buffer on Nvidia card is that you get even lower performance for the readback phase ! If you copy-to-texture, it's ok. Since, I switched back to regular frame-buffer rendering. Luc.

  6. Really nice on IBM's Deep View · · Score: 1

I have seen it at TJ Watson, connected to an SP3 through the switch of the SP. It's really nice. You can read 2 A4 pages of PDF side-by-side, and it's gorgeous. To program also it's usefull, you can open plenty of Emacs, but you have to get big fonts, otherwise it's unreadable. One problem, when connected to a single PC, is the graphics card. I have seen it with a single quad-output PCI matrox card. The card can't keep up. You really need a cluster to drive the 4-dual DVI inputs.
