Certain radioactive elements (such as plutonium-239) will remain hazardous to humans and other creatures for hundreds of thousands of years. Other radionuclides remain hazardous for millions of years. Thus, these wastes must be shielded for centuries and isolated from the living environment for millennia.
Congratulations, you found a single exception. My point is Uber is far from unique in seeking to reduce their labor and tax expenses. How many companies do you think you could find doing the same thing if you went looking? You would definitely get bored before you ran out of references.
That's very true, but the solution will not be to try to force Google et al to pay for the news. Those guys don't really need the news, as most people are going to read whatever is put in front of them rather than go out of their way to find high quality news. As long as they can find something somewhat engaging to link to, that will be plenty good enough, so Googlebook will be willing to just cut off the press organizations if they need to (Google has done it before). Approaching them about some kind of voluntary partnership would have a much better chance of success.
a C++ dev is just as fast as a Java dev once they're good at their respective languages because they know what they're doing and can produce results very quickly.
Well that's the third time you've claimed that without any supporting evidence, and I'm still not convinced.
Take a while to think about it from the point of view of developer skill rather than language ease.
This isn't a question that can be decided by thinking about it. The only way to tell if it's true is by measuring the output of developers in some way.
experienced developers are just as quick with languages they are experienced in.
Just as quick as what? Some other language that they're also experienced with? I'm still not convinced of your (unsupported) claim just because you repeated it.
efficiency means the difference between serving a heap of users and a load of users, the difference can be significant.
That is true, though you may be able to throw more money at the problem to overcome inefficiency. Buying more hardware may or may not be a good solution.
The experienced developers are just as quick in their favoured language as any
That sounds like a controversial claim. No programming language has any efficiency advantages over any other? I'm not buying that.
In my observation cats do seem to have really well developed spatial reasoning. Which makes sense, they're good at figuring out how and where to stalk their prey.
This isn't necessarily nefarious. My company uses Google Analytics to help understand how the app is being used. We don't track anybody with it (I don't think we even could if we wanted to), we just see things like what versions of OSes are in use, which features are being used and which aren't, etc.
But then maybe some of the other tracking systems let you do more spy-ish stuff.
Smart devices are too sandboxed and walled garden except for Youtube and Facebook benging.
Have you tried putting a different launcher on an Android device? There are some that do not at all resemble the stock launcher. And if you don't like any that are out there, you can write one yourself. I don't even know how you would go about trying to replace the Windows desktop manager.
What the crap do you do with a 20 MW compressor??

Spent nuclear fuel commonly contains about 0.8% plutonium-239.

Whoosh!
Certainly. Paying as little as (legally) possible is general practice. Violating labor and tax laws should result in fines and/or jail time.

Windows Store apps that browse the web must use HTML and JavaScript engines provided by Windows 10
Maybe they don't believe Facebook "browses the web".
Businesses don't tend to last very long paying more than necessary in wages or taxes.
I don't know what exactly you would consider "extraordinary"...

It sounds to me like rendition continued, but with some attempt to ensure the suspects were not tortured.
the acidification of the oceans
Maybe we should pour, like... lots and lots of baking soda into the ocean.

Oh I get what you're saying now! That would be pretty amusing.
That was a long way to go for "missile toe".
(And anyway, if those towers are an integer multiple of, rough guess, 400m away, then you would hear a sound at the same time as seeing the landing)
Wait, what? Are you talking about the gif, or if it were real? And either way - 400 meters? Where are you getting that?
Talk to a professional musician ... they "see" sound.

The only 'disadvantage' of a deflationary currency is that it encourages people to save their earnings rather than live on credit.

All that is only a problem for the main societal currency. Bitcoin can be deflationary without causing systemic economic problems.
Well I can't say I'm surprised by that response, and I think it's telling that you believe asking for evidence to back up a claim is "troll-like".

That is one thing I really appreciate about cats: they smell from neutral to pleasant.

Cats evolved in such a way as to have solved the problem of keeping small rodents down. Dogs have not.
There are various breeds of dog specifically bred to hunt rodents.

Perhaps they're talking about climbing ability and self-righting?
