Two of the biggest problems that have infected the educational leadership of this country is the concept of 'childrens rights' and 'self-esteem.'
Tracking is a wonderful idea... get the kid into an environment that works best for the level he/she is at. Unfortunately it has been tried(holding back a grade) and scrapped because of our lawsuit happy culture going after these 'offenses' against student's self-esteem.
So now instead of encouraging those that want to learn we have to cater to those that could care less.
Oh yes, let's knee jerk and come to the ultimate conclusion that any and all building materials are ultimately evil. The wood fibers and plastic resins of these wood plank substitutes are almost entirely from recycled materials. Not only are products like these a better and longer lasting material for their market, they reduce our reliance on new natural resources and reduce waste accumulation.
