> Just take a look at the type of 3D games that are currently being developed in Flash If I enable 3d hardware acceleration in flash the plugin crashes. This is happening on all versions released this year and Adobe don't seem to be able to fix it. So what use is it doing 3D if it's going to crash all the time?
I finally downgraded to Firefox 3.6, because versions 4/5 were so sluggish that they became nearly unusable. There is some major performance bug in the new versions. You can easily see this when you shut it down after using it for a day. The process takes an entire minute to close down - Firefox 3.6 only takes a couple of seconds.

Russia doesn't exactly have a good safety record regarding sea-going nuclear reactors. 3 of their nuclear subs are currently lying on the bottom of the artic sea.
Actually, he's only concerned about the overhead of texture upload, not the entire driver. Surely, that would be easy to fix with an OpenGL extension or something?
Supposing you're a small non-US developer and get a letter from some patent troll about your app. Just ignore it. What are they going to do? Issue an extradition order?
You mean for you it's faster. However, I found upgrading from 3.6 to 4.0 it became noticably sluggish. I'm sure 4.0 and 5.0 are indeed faster in artifical benchmarks.
The 32 gb iPod Touch is basically the same device and only costs $300. The iPod lacks a modem, GPS and camera, but that hardly accounts count for the extra $450.
When Apple refused to support flash for iPhone, I first thought that it was pretty harsh, but then as new crashy versions of the flash reader came out I soon realised that Steve Jobs was right. All recient versions of the flash reader crash when hardware accelaration is enabled. Instead of fixing the bugs Abode just blame the drivers.
> Nowadays, even that tiny risk is considered important enough to justify controlled de-orbiting. Mainly for PR reasons, I think.
Hmm, tiny risk, but serious consequences. A large satellite piece landing in the center of a city is going to cause a lot of damage.
No it's windows xp actually. I see a lot of posts on the forums with the same problem
...and makes some lucrative stock transactions

You have a good point. I suspect that most of the software won't be able to take advantage of the multi-cores.

Good. Axe the colonize mars pipe dream and put that money on proper science. This telescope is capable of directly imaging alien planets
Have you specifically enabled google history? If not then there is nothing to leak.

I wonder, could that have something to do with the fact that they target 60 fps, while most other games settle for 30 fps

Yes, but both Lodsys and Webvention are just a front for Intellectual Ventures: http://www.wirelessgoodness.com/2011/05/15/is-intellectual-ventures-behind-apple-ios-in-app-purchase-lawsuit-threats-we-think-so/

I just wonder what made flagstar decide to fight the case. I assume it was just a sense of moral justice.
...so, you are suggesting they use the James Webb space telescope to spy on the Taliban?
Yeah, I'd appreciate it: ones31@yahoo.com ;)

The article isn't saying Oracle is better, in fact it's saying that all SQL type databases are outdated and unsuitable for large web apps
but that stuff is in every OS. Why aren't MS sueing Apple, Nokia and Research In Motion too?
Just wonder how accurate the toy truck is. The video shows it jumping all over the place from the recoil.

One of the products of a Thorium reactor is Technetium-99 with half-life of 211000 years.
