I'd be happy if they let non-standard code work, but make a point of making the user aware that it is non-standard.
like making the website icon or location color red, or a small statusbar icon saying that it's not compliant. something akin to saying 'this website is not standard compliant' (not just js, but html/css etc.)
the success of this new treatment does not depend on morals. which is more profitable, short term cancer treatment or long term hiv(n' hybrids) treatment.
copyright holders will not be happy and the feature will be removed. we should be thinking on a better way to implement it. like a dumb java applet (for cross-browser) that renders a fetched encrypted image. in addition to that, only display a small region under the mouse(when on the image) everything else would be rendered in a censored way. or on activex applet using directx so the casual people cannot just printscreen.
this sounds like the begining of some sort of community perversion. advert corps may give some sort of url-driven shader textures. maybe even the community mappers can make some money off it. clientside fetching is easily defeated. so i'd guess the game server will stream the textures. now.. i wouldn't mind a regular themed billboard in a map. but i think it would give incentive to the wrong people to join a community for 'profit' and servers running only the admin's ad-ridden maps will soon follow.
there's a csharp to parrot compiler. er.. .net to parrot! parrot to .net!
nah, mod_aspdotnet would still be there.. haunting me.

that i've made many people waste a fraction of their lives by reading my content-less post. this of course. i cannot prove.
I also believe this question was mainly done to make controversial religious arguments. but that has already been proven by most previous posts.
