    Never said anything about business. Government does the same thing but worse. They only care about the quarter before the election cycle.

    But they are spending in on older and more established researchers, (sure bets) which will eventually retire. Then what? If all the young guys go elsewhere for jobs, in 15 years there will be no one to give the money to.

    When the distant future is only next quarter, this kind of thing happens. No one cares about consequences that will only happen after they have left the job... So, be ready to see basic research shift to another country in about 15 years.

    Depends on how long you keep your phone. My phone is going on 6 years now and really could use a third battery. My tablet is 2 years old and is just beginning to show signs of needing one now.

    A touch interface is much easier for some people to use than a mouse.

    But they suck balls for highly dense knowledge work. The precision is not there. Go ahead... Select a single character in the middle of a word on your tablet. I dare you. And PCs are eventually going to be the people that can not make do with a tablet, and having the tablet interface hurts that function.

    The article is like saying Toilet Paper will replace tablets since the sales are so much better. It confuses purchase with use. I have a dumb phone and a tablet. I caught grief for a lot of years, but I am starting to get more people asking me about it and considering joining the Luddite band. :) A "phabulet" is too big as a phone with a screen that is still to small for reading anything but twitter and facebook.

    And even if ALL 13000 were Amazon, that is a tiny percentage of accounts. It would be nice if they had posted the link so you could look for your name. Now it is hidden so the people least likely to be on the list (those with enough clue not to install the malware) can find it in a few minutes, but those most likely to be on the list will have no clue how to...
