  1. The other 3rd world on Growth in Indian Offshoring Slowing · · Score: 2, Interesting

I think more companies should look at Newfoundland Canada as a potential place to outsource. In the town of Grand Falls-Windsor there are multiple companies that are US based and rely on Canadians for their workforce. Those companies are benefiting from the lower cost of living that Newfoundlanders have compared to the rest of North America which in turn keeps salaries down. The people there are highly educated professionals with the credentials to suit most technology jobs. One of the companies that has a location there, choose Newfoundland in the late 90s after outsourcing to India for years and being very displeased with the results.

  2. FF Forum Support on Firefox Share Slipped in July for the First Time · · Score: 1

Forrum support may also be a reason for many to have IE. I personally use firefox and i love it for its features, but when Im browsing forums Posted dates are all wrong. It seems to add 1 day to the date posted. Now is that a feature or what? FF Tells me what will be posted tomorrow! The sad thing is that the fix for this problem is to leave IE open in the background and FF will show the correct dates. :|

  3. Question of Freedom on DOJ Wants ISPs to Retain All Customer Records · · Score: 1

Doesnt google already do this using its web accelerator software?

You guys in the states are loosing all your freedoms that you hold so dear at an alarming rate. The excuse of giving up freedom cause you are in a post 911 world is bull. if you give up your freedoms the terrorists win.

I am Canadian and I won't give up my freedom to any government or the RIAA or MPAA or CRIA... And I sure wont give it up because people south of the border think I should

  4. DSL slower then cable? on Cable Beats DSL For Average Speed · · Score: 1

I dont know what is going on in the world but here in Newfoundland Canada we get 1.5mbps DSL as the base package and the cable connections top out at 800kbps. I routinely download using my DSL at a rate of an average of 150Kbps. Yes Kbps not kbps.
