Another option use to use bluetooth remote control software like Salling Clicker which gives you remote access to iTunes (among other Mac software) from the comfort of your bluetooth Palm or cellphone. Very slick. The remote interface gives you access to all the tracks, playlists and even album art.
A friend of mine, being a huge U2 fan, found a link to a pre-release, radio-recorded version of Discoteque. I'd never heard of MP3 and at a file-size of 4MB I figured it just must be a clip or something. Most of my music listening at that point (this was early 97 or late 96 I guess) were MODs or derivatives from the demo music scene.
Can't even remember what I used to listen to it! Maybe an early version of WinAmp? It was all downhill from there.
And I gotta tell ya, I take this $99 beauty of that $300 Sony anyday. It plays CDs/CDRWs/MP3s AND DVD Video which you can hook up to a TV! No, you can't hook it up directly to a computer but who cares?
