Come on... so, the only businesses making money on the web are spammers and pornographers? What about game sites? What about personal ad sites? How about mail order sites (DELL, AMAZON, etc).
The medium is still new and there is plenty of opportunity. You need not become an Amazon to be considered sucessful.
