Absolutely. The stability of the plane is in large part to do with the angle the wings make with the fuselage. Upward pointing dihedral wings are far more stable, but offer less maneuvrability.
Anhedral wings, on the other hand, make the plane aerodynamically unstable, thus allowing it to turn far faster.
It's pretty intuitive really. A dihedral (upward sweeping) wing, is lengthened horizontally when the plane turns (because it's tipped towards the horizontal) therefore generating more lift and righting the plane.
An anhedral wing, on the other hand, is shortened when the plane banks, further reducing the lift on the banking side, and accelerating the turn.
Anhedral winged planes are essentially impossible to control without computer aid. Hence they are restriced to fighter planes and such...

Yes, I am. And since it forms an entire course at Edinburgh University Dept. of AI where I study, I suppose certain other people think it is too.:)
The "intelligence" part of AI need not be explicit - there are plenty of examples of tacit intelligence, and these rightly fall under the banner of AI. Hive intelligence for example... no single ant in a colony has any clue as to what is going on, and there's no controlling insect, yet the hive has intelligence when viewed as a whole. Same with evolution...and the use of GA's in optimisation. Definitely AI...

AI is most definitely not nowhere. What is true is that the expectations of most people outside the AI scene were highly unrealistic, and AI had to go through a massive period of readjustment to determine the direction to head in...
Just a recent example - Boeing just nailed the design specs of the new 777 using genetic algorithms to determine the most efficient dimensions.
