If the EU accepts this, that does not mean Red Hat, IBM, etc can't sue for anti trust practices in the US and I believe the smart people at those companies can win. Hell someone proved MS was in violoation of anti-trust in the first place.
Have you programmed in.NET?
I don't like Microsoft Windows or Microsoft in general, but.NET is the most powerful programming platform out there. It makes GUI interfaces a breeze.
What took a 3 hour seminar in Java took 10 minutes in a.NET seminar.
When a man has the business inteligence to bring a corporation from a crap hole to one of the biggest corporations in the world, high executives in all companies turn an ear to that person and listen. From his success he has earned the respect of the industry...whether you like the product his empire creates or not.

take this scenario:
leave all gamers on Windows.
move all productivity (Office), internet surfers and multimedia users to the mac.
the situation is reversed. Macs would dominate and gamers would be the few and ?maybe? the proud. Apple is not pushing the gaming market because there is not much there for them. But pushing productivity and multimedia (iLife), they are going for the broader market.
Then also take this into accout:
Big companies like Microsoft lose interest in quality and go for pricey but crap software. How can we be sure if Apple turns into a like-Microsoft giant, they won't have the same problem with "we are huge, so give them crap...they have to pay us!"
My 2 cents,

I agree. If you do the math, come on....
Netflix is something like $19/month. You can have a total of 3 movies out at a time. So if you keep one movie for over a month, you are paying something around $6.33333 for that one movie (19/3).
As for blockbuster you keep it over the extra week, and you pay a $1.75...no matter how long it takes. Plus if you really like the movie, they charge you to buy it unless you return it. So I could pay $1.75 for three months of rent as for Netflix it would be $19 from the monthly fee.
Oh and one added bonus to Blockbuster, I am not limited to three movies. I can keep that one movie and rent as many others I want at the same time.
