Personally, I love this idea, but i think they could make a simple change that would allow for more information to be displayed on screen and without having alot of the same looking thumbnail on screen. I used the browser for about 10 minutes on different areas of the same website and all the thumbnails looked the same. The solution is simple; only thumbnail the first page of a website you visit, then list underneath the thumbnail, all of the pages that youve visited in the same website. If you happen to click on a link on one of the pages which takes you to another website, that will be displayed as a thumbnail and an arrow to the next website.
I realize that that is a little complicated, but it will allpw for more information on screen, take up less memory, and be alot easier to use.
It always takes longer for books to come out when an entirely new piece of software is introduced. This isint like the update from photoshop 6 to ps 7. In a situation like that, most of the info from the ps 6 book can be translated very easily to a ps 7 book and so on. This go around, they have to write an entire book about one release, it almost certainly takes longer.
The windows xp users I would rather not 'switch' are those like yourself, the anal retentive ones. And i would like to see Apple grow and prosper, from real people. Many people on slashdot do not understand that they are not the norm for computer users. Most computer users just want to turn the thing on and have it work. Those are the customers who i welcome to Apple with open arms. Windows zombies and linux/unix/BSD elitists can bite me
I appreciate you trying to respond with a level head. However, you fait to take into account just how little I care about people who have nothing better in their lives than to critique my grammar. I agree, bad spelling is a matter of laziness, but I don't care. Every thing I've ever written for school or for job interviews has been grammatically perfect, but I could care less about a bunch of pipmle-faced little kids who think they know everything. And your own ignorance is shown by the fact that you don't even know what my major is.
first, Yes, i cant spell
second, yes my system has a spell checker, but i could care less about weather or not you anal retentive idiots who have no insightful comments except for pointing out other people's grammatical errors
third, were all 20, and go to virginia tech. my roomate who had the viruses is an engineer, and i am an industrial designer.
and there is something to be said for eloquence in public speaking, just because i dont have the best typing ability or spelling knowledge, doesnt mean i am unable to experess myself well, you should worry more about the content of posts, not how the words are spelled
yes, i never used a mac before osx, i bought my powerbook over a year ana a half ago, and i have absolutley no regrets. i was a hardcore windows user and now i just laugh at my friends whose computers crash, my roomate just virus checked his system and he found over 2000 viruses, i have none. that being said, i would rather that alot of windows xp users not 'switch' because i like being the outnumbered and decenting. i know my system is betterand i could care less about most windows users. however i would like to see apple continue to grow and gain more acceptance
Go to Griffin Technologies' website (the people that make the slick silver knob that currently sits beside my powerbook). They make the AM/FM radio shark or something like that...allows you to use your computer as a radio TiVo...pretty damn cool
