I'm no expert so could you explain a couple of things.... Could you explain why they wouldn't be able to figure out which player it came from if they didn't release all of their details. Also, if both of these cracks can be rendered useless in future releases via key revocation, then what is different between this one and Muslix64's crack?
Canon has some software where you can calibrate your camera by taking a picture of a white screen....that is mainly for SLRs where you can get dust on the sensor or somewhere between the lens and the sensor.
I think what you want is something that removes what is called noise. For that I would use neatimage, noise ninja or GREYCstoration.
I saw a post a while ago, probably on here, talking about how games have changed and you now need to earn things. You pay $60 for Grand Turismo and you can only race 3 cars on 2 tracks. Or games where you can only be 3 characters to begin with yet the game has 27 more that you can earn. I think it is kinda silly, and I don't enjoy those games. I got my brother Guitar Hero for christmas this year and he can only play a handful of songs out of the box...how dumb. I know that I don't get a sense of accomplishment by "earning" the right to play more than 3 songs or race more than 3 cars.
In other games, like the Mario series, I think it is fine that you can't play level 2 before you beat level 1, but racing games and Guitar Hero-like games should be fully unlocked out of the box. Have it so you can't play it on expert before you play it on beginner, that is fine....but unlock all the songs.
Why is this a problem?...and secondly who pays for this crap?
Honestly, who will spend $50 on a game and $1,000 for gold and stats?
I don't play any of these stupid games...I loved that WoW southpark episode.
No, the short exposure time causes the fan to appear frozen.
The flash usually causes the short exposure time.
On a decent camera you have more control over the flash. On mine I have a setting called flash fill where it doesn't bias the exposure time that much so it can fill up my backyard with light.
So, they've stopped arresting their customers and started in on their own talent.
Well, this guy was stealing music and making money off of it wasn't he?
I think they have more of a case with this one than with 16 year old kids maxing out their 60Gb iPods with mp3s downloaded from p2p networks.
Wow, didn't realize why your's was rated Funny, but then I noticed your name.
Very nice. If I had mod points I would rate you funny as well...not that it would mean much as this was obviously created for a one time use.
Not only that, but I heard that two other reasons for not opening up their drivers are
1. ATI could steal from Nvidia if they aren't already
2. Nvidia sells you a crippled $500 video card for $200 and a hacked driver could turn it back into a $500 card
People were saying the same thing about Xbox Media Center. When it was in the beginning of development the default skin had it looking like a Windows Media Center Edition PC. I think I heard something about Microsoft releasing some kind of Media Center thing for the Xbox, but guess what....the open source xbmc project is still in active development and is (I assume) far better than the Microsoft one. Even if Microsoft released their Media Center thing as open source, xbmc would still be better. It plays stuff I can't play on my windows machine.
Because they probably use Windows tools to test that the build was successful.
And even if they didn't, it would still be cheaper for them to load windows and give the 1 out of 100,000 people a refund than to change their process to accommodate such a tiny few.
1. It doesn't remove your ability to play ps3 games at all.
2. It would make an excellent MythTV frontend. (Not sure if it can be done w/ the framebuffer since there is no 3d support)
Actually, you're missing 2d acceleration also. Everything is being done w/ a framebuffer.
So every single pixel you see is being maintained by the CPU in memory.
Very inefficient.
I don't own a PS3, but that is all my understanding.
My point is that it makes for a horrible demo. They have this thing hooked up to a 1080p HD monitor for a reason...to show off the graphics that are supposed to justify the $600 price tag. I've seen the demos of Resistance and Kill Zone and they look amazing, but who knows how much of that is pre-rendered and everything...you can't trust what is on the internet. So I go and want to see what kind of graphics I can expect on it and I see a pretty crappy looking game. I've seen better looking stuff in 1995.
I was going to buy one until I saw and played that demo. I'm not much for sports games so that basketball game didn't do much for me either. Now I'll have to wait until they get new demo games on there or I play one at a friend's house before I'll drop the money.
Not to mention the glitchy shadows....the first thing you see when you start that demo.
I was like wow....this is a demo on a $600 console???...This is what they're showing us to make us want to buy one.
Exactly. I played one in a Circuit City...no wait for it. Less than 2 minutes and Motorstorm froze. Felt kinda bad for the little kid that started waiting patiently behind me as I walked away from the thing.
Clue for you all: 127.0.0.1 != "home". Stop embarrassing yourselves. Try "There's no place like ~", for example.
/home/FunkyELF/....I think what you're looking for is...
Actually, ~ != home either. ~ in my case is
There's no place like ~/..

Most of the time it is hidden. That is why when you buy a 300Gb hard drive it only shows up as 285.

Yeah, that is another discussion all together.

I like this idea too and will defiantly use it if it works.
Did you see a problem in the screen shot?

I can't get to that link from work because it is blocked by our proxy.
Does the list contain PySolitare?
There is a port for Windows. It is the best solitare package ever....over 200 solitare games.
Next Question:
Should they use it at all?

Its spelled 'cents', and yes...I agree 5,250 is a lot of cents.
Is that where the difference comes from? The title of the slashdot article says 37.5 TB then in the summary it says 300 terabit.

I heard that it is purposely locked down with a hypervisor....whatever that means. You will have no access to the graphics with or without drivers.
