Yes. And while you remain doing it for fun, I'm not going to risk my business on it.

Yes, but what you can do is risk your business on writing the remaining 5%, which saves an incredible 95% of the work. For nothing! How can this be construed as a bad deal?

I would love to visit (or even live in) New Zealand.

Hee hee ... I'm a New Zealander who's lived everywhere but. It's gorgeous (apparently), but it's very small and remote. You'll be pleased to know that tickets aren't quite that expensive, at least in the off season.

I hear that immigration is pretty difficult, but if it's worse than you yanks I'll be really surprised.

Sure, it's a dupe, but it's been over twelve hours since the last article was posted. I needed some sort of fix. Thanks, CT!

For example Ada 95: it IS fast and has real bounds-checking.

Well, yeah, but if I'd said that I'd have been modded -1: likes Ada.

Of course, I got -1 flamebait anyway, and I honestly have no idea why.

Darn, now I have to put myself in my own foes list.

Hate to break it to you, but ANY program of medium to large size will never be bug free and exploitless. It's the nature of complicated projects.

Using the right tools can eliminate a whole class of problems. Just because you can't get rid of them all is no reason not to try.

It's lovely that everybody who reads Slashdot is a master C programmer who never leaves buffer overflow exploits in their code, but for mortals such as I, there are better languages in which this sort of thing simply doesn't happen. And despite popular opinion, the magic can be implemented without significant loss of efficiency. Imagine that. It's like free money.

If you're not omniscient, please consider using a language with real arrays. C++ doesn't count.

Um, hello? That link argues that God wouldn't have killed them without giving them time to, like, make their peace with Jesus and stuff.

Look, I'm totally convinced and all, but maybe the heathens want to know more.

Not totally related, but still a funny message. I was working on some program for school and the compiler told me the "Constructor is private and has no friends."

That's not funny; that's sad. Constructor must have some friends. Maybe it just doesn't know who they are yet.

Another good reason to learn Ada. Since separate is a keyword, you'll learn to spell it in no time.
