    Unless I'm using a mac, in which case there are no new versions of IE on the horizon.

    Leach said Microsoft will provide a free plug-in for its Internet Explorer Web browser that will let it display rights-protected Office documents.

    "We recognize that people are going to want to take advantage of this that don't have Office 2003," he said. "This way, they can see the document in a browser window (and) they can print, copy or forward," as decided by the document creator.

    Apple better think of something quickly before Safari disappears faster than you can say Netscape.

    Finally, I don't have to ssh into my account at work or run my Gentoo partition to have a working java 1.4.1. (don't get me wrong, I got lots of kudos for having a 10gig linux partition on my TiBook, but kudos don't get my applications working on OS X)

    And for those of you wondering what all the fuss is about, all I have to say is 'nio.'

    I go to New York University, and in one of our main buildings, there exists a mainframe. It's the most amazing thing to walk inside. Practically a half the floor of the building is devoted to this one piece of hardware. Sort of like those old Dianetics commercials (the before pictures).

    Yeah, most older universities have a mainframe or two because it's just too expensive to replace
