For math and science books yeah making them politically correct is no big deal, but when you get to arts and humanities you really need to leave those 'bad' words in them. There are American history books now that leave out important events because it would be too tough to discuss them in a politically correct way.
I kept expecting your post to be a joke, since you were exactly describing how I read ebooks, on my Handspring. Light, I have dropped it alot, easy on the eyes LCD, the reader software does let me write notes (which I have never done), and so on. Also, the books usually sell for a bit less than the printed versions (at peanut press).
Save some money, you don't need to talk to a Lawyer first, you can first let the company know you would rather not let them own your off time created work. If they are amiable, then go to a lawyer and get it worked out. I have not had any trouble getting clauses like that changed, but in my first couple of jobs out of college, I just accepted it.
What about the 3rd Dimension? You are assuming that computers continue to be made up of chips that are effectively 2 dimensional. Yeah I understand that there are various engineering issues with going 3D, but I expect it will happen at sometime.
The Rust Monster remark was a reference to (Advanced) Dungeons and Dragons. It was a creature they made up to scare people with armor, it could destroy their armor:)

Nah, I think $100 is a good start. Then corps won't automatically renew, they will have to decide it is really worth while
