  1. Re:Washington D.C. ... YUCK on A Geek's Tour Of North America? · · Score: 1

I lived outside of DC for a few years ... WHAT A DIRTY, STINKY, DISGUSTING, CRIME RIDDEN MESS... the only part of the entire city that looks "Cool" or "Majestic" is a couple mile square around the federal facilities .... go anywhere else and watch out for drug needles on the ground to poke through your shoes and give you a disease you normally wouldn't get unless you had unprotected sex with one of the lovely ladies you could pick up downtown for $10 (not a joke)

  2. Duh ... the old airport was AMD based too on Taking Apart An Airport Extreme Base Station · · Score: 1

The original airport along with several other base stations that used the same hardware like the Lucent RG1000 were all based on an AMD x86 cpu Before you gasp check your facts. Coincidentally you can buy one of the lucent units for $50 and flash it with apple firmware. Vwalla you have an airport ... though your's won't look like a space ship but a shark's fin.

Now if only they could get rid of the WB completely the tv moron factor would shrink by 50%.

  4. I Just switched from Linux on Flirting With Mac OS X · · Score: 2, Funny

I have been using linux exclusively for about the last 3 years I have had to keep (like a thorn in my side) a windows machine in my home to run Photoshop. Because, and we're being honest here, there is nothing in the linux world that will do everything that photoshop will do as well as photoshop does it. This month I made the Apple switch. I bought a TiPbook. I never even wanted to look back. I can run vi, pine, apache and Photoshop all on the same machine withought windows. And the interface just makes you smile. It's like they locked a bunch of graphics designers in a room with a pile of heroin and told them to go wild.
