If you're not impressed with the speed of the stock MicroSizers/Bit Char-Gs, pick up one of these guys' 3.8 motors!
TinyRC.com
They are 38,000RPM vs. a 1.0 which is 10,000RPM. If that's not enough, you can always add a second cell for twice the voltage (take a look at the Forums on that site for more info!).
ick, that place is very unfriendly and the mods are little kids with big egos! most people i know left those Forums and joined http://tinyrc.com/forums
Well, the Mini-Z is 1/28th scale vs. 1/64 for the Bit Char-Gs/MicroSizers, so they aren't really comparable. However, you can fit a wireless cam in a Mini-Z! http://mini-zracer.com/parts/ !!
DrXym, there are many different brands, including a large number of *clones* which are a lot cheaper but awful quality. With these, you get what you pay for. A $10 clone will fall apart if it even works at all. A $40 MicroSizer will last, and can be upgraded unlike many of the clones. The Radio Shack Zip Zap is itself a clone, and is inferior to the BC-G/MicroSizer or Digi-Q.
Bit Char-Gs are called "RC MicroSizers" in the US (see microsizers.com). I have bought several from tinyrc.com - they also have a good forum, worth a look! Most afficianados prefer the BitChar-Gs/MicroSizers to the RadioShack "clones" which are lower quality, and the bodies just don't sit right.

Yep! You can get a much much longer runtime out of the NiMH cells, you can get NiMH replacement cells at: TinyRC.com
TinyRC.com ship to the UK I think.
Email these guys, they can get the Yokomo for you: http://tinyrc.com/shop
There are only two legal frequencies in the US. However, you can get Bit Char-Gs on 4 different freqs.
$9.99 for a 2.6 motor?! You can get a 3.8 for $11 at tinyrc.com! http://tinyrc.com/shop/products.php?pid=2 and a 2.6 for $7!
Agreed - the ZipZaps are very lame clones of Bit Char-Gs/MicroSizers. The body detail is terrible, they look those old AMC 4WD cars!
