The article didn't mention that the reason anime got so popular in Japan is the "moe" genre. "Moe" anime is the type that somewhat arouses sexual fantasies.
More than half of the anime contains at least one of the following components: cat ear, uniform, lolita, maid, nurse, baby sister, female teacher... And I don't mean anime pr0n. These are the anime that turned lonely boys into otakus.
Of course many of these anime are excellent in terms of intriguing plot and excellent story, but they wouldn't be nearly as popular if the moe element were removed.
Here are some names of the anime that falls in to the moe category:

For a second I thought I was looking at /. story generator. It's really been a while to see Something Hacked posts here. Blogger being hacked means loss of productivity, and the weblogs has become metaweblogs.
Patents should only protect those who actually spend money and time on research and development. What's the cost of "inventing" e-commerce. Plus. the idea behind e-commerce is not non-obvious to begin with. You should be making money out of your idea, not your patent. There's difference.
Just underclock your CPU and put a huge copper heat sink on it. I bet you can't tell the difference if you are just sending e-mails and browsing the web. Today's CPUs are way overqualified for office uses.
