    How did it start? Basecamp, a project-management tool by 37signals/Next Angle, was the original Rails application.

    Nope, basecamp was the first "Rails" application. It was actually the application that Rails was extracted from.

    This is a very creative and interesting business proposition, but how practical could it possibly be in the real world? Who would be willing to have there important research computations being worked out on computers owned by *REALLY* honest people who steal music? I don't see a market for the CPU cycles.

    E-Rocks signature is true if you look back through history. Relgion gives a few (ministers or what have you) an influence over the mass of believers afterlife, and moral views (we could argue that fact till the cows go home but lets assume it is fact, most people are not bright enough to make a distinction between church leadership and religion). Every major conflict be it the crusades of Europe to current day terrorism (and even the great World Wars) were caused directly or influenced in some major way by religion. Although not a direct influence of the teachings of these religions it is the power that religion gives to the minority of religious leaders which is dangerous. But alas this is all OffTopic, but needed to be cleared up.

    But what about only using SymLinks. Then write a little scripty that checks to see if the symlink has been deleted. if it has put a counter on the file and do what you must to the file saved safely on the server...
