    I can't imagine that to be the case. Are there that many non-functional DVI to HDMI adaptors?

    I guess, because they give the adaptors away.
    I can't even see it being DRM, just some sort of patent stupidity.

    How does restricting the card to only use adaptors you give away for free make money?

    It would be cheaper to not have this check and then tell people to buy their own adaptors.

    Sure, because you are a house guest not in a hotel.

    I have never made money on having guests over. Typically I will not let them pay for anything, part of being a good host. I also don't tend to invite random folks into my home though.

    Anytime you eat meat and do not need it, which is almost all the time it is more entertainment than nourishment. You could have chosen a diet that had less meat in it.

    Actually some cats will bring these things directly to their owners. I know not if they are making gifts or bragging or what but clearly they want their owner to see this.

    Not all do this, but some do. I have a cat that does this with toys, and I assume would do it with mice if he had the chance. He will scream and find a human to show what he has done. If we avoid him, he will find us to show us this.

    What are you to me vs any other animal?
    Why should I value your existence above any other animal I do not know?

    If it took an extract of your brain to keep one of my pets alive, should I be ok with doing that?

    What about a human that is less developed than a dog? A person in a persistent vegetative state or just very severely handicapped?

    You mean you can't run an unregulated hotel and compete with the regulated ones? Is that a shock to you? Did you know it is also illegal to sell uninspected meat you slaughter at home?

    We regulate hotels and food production for lots of reasons. Sure regulatory capture happens but the alternative just might be worse. If you want to check that out just google for china and pretty much any food item.

    Actually chickens like all birds evolved from dinosaurs and their wings are in fact their arms.

    The more you know....Which in your case seems to be very little.

    Here they patrol in cars. Most of the USA is not laid out in a way conducive to foot patrol.

    Mine does not have one.
    Doing that would require people willing to pay property taxes. When you tell the police to go find their own income, they will.

    Because they can't run their dept without that revenue. My town/suburb has great patrols. I smile when I pay my property taxes. Remember this next time some politician says he will lower your taxes.

    Yet in my nice suburb the cops ride around a nice pattern all day. Crime is low, they are ready to respond at all hours and always helpful. This is why I smile when I pay my property taxes. No need for them to try to bring in more cash.

    You would not use it in normal speech. Just like many would call 78F 80 instead in normal speech. Rounding is pretty common.

    When someone fubars a server it tends not to release nuclear waste. On top of which they get fired, unlike TEPCO.
