    Yet another argument for ye olden days method. I use vim, I have my terminal set the way I like and it does not impact what content is actually in the file.

    I will just be getting the current GSM nexus when my Verizon plan ends.

    I have 550 minutes not 1400 and do not have unlimited messaging. I also have unlimited data for $30 each phone. We use 4GB now, in 6 months it will be more.

    Would not happen. Instead they would buy the companies fire all the workers and replace them with MS party line type folks. You would get a phone that RRoD would be a known issue for years, and would be worse than any the two previous companies made before. NIH is a huge issue for MS.

    This is false.

    I have two smartphones on my data plan with unlimited data and this will increase my cost $30/month or mean I have to use less data. Niether is attractive to me.

    That does not help one bit.

    I want less minutes and less text in my family plan. They have already forced me up to 600 minutes of which we use about 150 minutes combined.

    It is not pretty much equal you. It will cost me $30/month more for my family plan and mean I can't use more data in the future. I will want more data in the future.

    Are you employed by verizon or painfully dense?

    Many people are on family plans and this will increase their costs.

    Yes, $60 is less than $50, but the $40 per phone service charge is more than what we are paying now. Also many people use more than 1GB, especially between 2 or more people. My family plan has two users that together use 4GB of data and under 300 minutes and 500 texts combined, we currently pay $120. Under this plan we would pay $80 just for phone service and another $70 for data. That means our bill would go up by $30 a month.

    Instead I will switch carriers. I have no interest in unlimited voice, nor texts. I would in fact love a data only plan and just use voip.

    Actually they do. If you want to be able to use the google market you have to pay. That is why they stopped Cyanogenmod from bundling it.

    You can installed android on anything, but if you want market access you pay for it.

    I could, but I sure as hell would never. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

    I have stuff to do in the morning, and I am not giving up sleep to watch a sport sober. That would be doubly pointless.

    Because I have no interest in watching them after I know the result. I lack the time to see all those games.

    Why would your wife care? Check out the upper level tickets, many arena's sell a family package that includes a dinner at some chain place.

    My mistake, I have the 11.6, not the 13". I somehow mixed them up. Both are too low. This display at 11.6 would be great though.

    The current air has a 1366x768 display and on 13" that sucks. I can see the pixels quite easily at normal use distance. I want my maximally corrected vision to be the limiting factor not the panel.

    On the droid I replaced the battery very frequently as I had two batteries that I would swap out. This is because I was often using the device for work while out and about. So far on the GN I have not yet bought a backup battery.

    I had a Droid 1 for 20 months the battery did not fallout once. I have had a galaxy nexus for 2 months the battery has not fallen out once.

    What phones with removable batteries have this issue?

    It can be replaced it is just a huge pain to do so. I have done some ipod battery replacements and no the average non-slashdotter can't do it. The average slashdotter should be able to though, or should not be on slashdot.

    I don't want to make their clubs illegal or prevent them from marrying others, or in general make their lives any harder. I just want them to keep their nonsense to themselves. Quite different than what Jerry Falwell wants. Religion is a front for assholes, its only real purpose is what the assholes use it for.

    This will not work that way, the OEM will use lower quality tablet parts if they have to pay more for the OS. They will do this to get a competitive price and a reasonable profit margin. There are quite a few good android tablets out there, Samsung, Acer and Asus just off the top of my head all make more than one. Plus there is the fire and the nook for the lower end but still quite nice devices.
