    Is apple part of the body that defined those standards, is that group still open for new members?
    F/RAND agreements often don't apply to the public, or in a more limited matter. This are contracts not matters of law.

    Too bad the court disagreed and even named a tablet that looked quite similar. Thicker, but that was only due to technology limits at the time. The icon layout does not look default on those Samsung devices, someone rigged it to look similar.

    This is not true. The obligation to shareholders is not that short sighted. If a company can say they thought this could hurt profits if it came out they could avoid doing it. You can be sued by anyone at anytime, for just about any reason. This does not mean the person bringing the lawsuit will get anything.

    I agree 100%, but the devices I am taking about are iscsi SANS, that are vmware approved. The Linux kernel ISCSI implementation is pretty poor and does not even provide iSCSI3.

    With local storage I agree with you 100%. I have tested rebuilds on this setup and is only a couple hours.

    We fill all our helpdesk positions that way. We have had one person become a dev, one a sysadmin and another is trying to become a sysadmin.

    I am sitting a floor above ~400 call center agents, this is in the USA. 100% of them use English as their primary language. 10% of them also speak another language.

    I never made such a claim. Again you act as though as all slashdot posts come from one person.

    The government is not coming for me, as far as I can tell, and if it did I would defend myself in court. Government is needed and all functional societies have one.

    Not all slashdotters believe the same thing. For instance I think libertarians are either woefully naive, liars, or morons. I applaud the government taking action to ensure the cellular service market does not become a duopoly.

    If you need encryption over http that is called https. The real question might be why you want it over http at all.

    What I mean is if you have enough spindles and the backplane is fast enough raid 5 rebuild slowdown is pretty low. Try it out, modern devices can do it with 10-20% hit in speeds.

    RAID 10 is only good if the device supports it well, some don't. By that I mean I have a low end device that does 300MB/s max, with RAID 5 over 22 disks. RAID 10 those same disks and you will not break 250MB/s. The vendor has acknowledged this issue is due to the low controller specs.

    Not if you have enough backplane speed. I just tested this on a device I am using in RAID5 because its RAID10 implementation sucks.
