They are not network based credentials. They are credentials for access to resources running either locally or on some server. The fact that you cross a network to get to them does not make them network based.

That is not how first to file works.

First to file only comes into play when more than one entity files for the same patent. At that point the first one to get to the patent office wins. My preference would have been if two folks try to patent the same thing it is considered obvious enough to not get patent protection.

Prior art still applies as it always had.

Arrows are expensive too, last time I bought a dozen gold tips it was around $100. I had them cut to length and fletched though. Normally I do the latter, but I prefer not to cut carbon arrows myself because of the dust.

Actually I think you are the one who is wrong. There was a desire for travel faster than horses before cars or trains. It was that desire that fed the demand side of those markets. Without that desire you are back to the feces hat machine.

Demand is quite frankly desire expressed in a market. This means that desire leads demand. A specific product is not what people want, that is simply one way to meet that desire or demand. I do not care if I get a dewalt drill or a ryobi one, only that I get the best price for the level of hole drilling I need.

In your little fiction products are never interchangeable. People rarely have any desire for a specific product, especially before they research the possible supply available to meet their desire/demand.

Only in scale. There should be a crew ready to repair planes 24x7 at least on call if nothing else. If I can have all my sysadmins in our datacenter in 30 minutes, the mechanics can do the same thing. Same with whoever signs off on the repair.

Lots of things are expensive and we keep spares. Redundancy is the only real solution here. You would of course rotate planes from spare to active duty and such. This way the cost could also be shared amongst many carriers. Same as gensets used for data centers.

The simple fact is until airlines have to pay for lateness they will do nothing about it. They need a financial incentive. My proposal would be 10% of the ticket price per hour late, max payout 2X the ticket price. That kind of incentive would lead to solutions.
