  1. Ntew Year binge to blame on Nuclear Decay May Vary With Earth-Sun Distance · · Score: 1

Nobody mentions a very stark correlation evident from the figure. The peak always occurs around the New Years, everybody is having a gala time, the experimenters, the earth, the sun, neutrinos, why should alpha (fine structure constant) be left behind? Folks, believe me, its the celebrations that's to be blamed!

"Track the number of users updating your product, instead of the number of users downloading your product. Whereas downloads will give you an - highly - inflated numbers of users, tracking update stats will give you a - underrated, but verfiable - better measure of how many people are actually actively using it." The standard practice in most organizations here in India is that once you install the OS and a basic software like the browser which works then don't disturb te system with updates etc., especially if you are suing linux/unix, until the next OS update. Therefore a hundred of updates might be issued but no one here bothers with them as long as the original is working, and hence no. of updates will definiteily not act as a guide of the no. of users. If you are bothered about security then rest assured mostly all computers work behind the institutional firewalls etc., so security is not an issue for the individual users, it's the headache of system admin.

You don't seem to read the posts carefully either, no wonder you are so ignorant!! There is no Indian grad student involved anywhere!!! The post refers to a mathematical problem posed by the great mathematician Srinivas Ramanujam, one of the greatest minds of the 20th century!!!! And now a grad student called Karl Mahlburg, at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, US, is claiming to have found a solution. If you are unaware of the name of Ramanujam, better remain quiet instead of advertising your ignorance and callous attitude.

  4. DHMO in hot desert!!!!!!????? on Do Comets go Poof? · · Score: 1

The report forgets to mention that the comet tail mostly contains substantial amount DHMO. Does that mean that the CIA is asking NASA to investigate whether the "axis of evil" is using some rocket cum satellite technology to bombard the US with the dreaded white solid substance (a.k.a letest Bond flick Die Another Day) acquired from the comets which go 'poof'? The report also fails to mention that finding of the DHMO in large quantities in regions of hot temperature is highly unlikely, for it melts above 0 (zero) degree Celsius. The report also fails to mention that the US society is in a state of severe degenaration because they perceive that the powdery DHMO is threatning to life (severe alcohol dependence is the cause????) as this same powder in its molten form is the basis of all life!!!!! DHMO (Di Hydrogen Mono Oxide) has the chemical formula H2O, and is popuraly known as water in the English language, in both the old (now believed to be archaic) British version as well as the new yuppy American avatar, as well as its numerous colloquial versions the world over.
