I have a hard enough time trying to pull a big old stuffed animal out with those robotic arms much less a tiny tiny phone. At 50 bucks a pop rather than 50 cents, I'm going to waste a lot of money.

According to
CNN that very problem exists. The buffers in those recorders are in danger of writing over the data before it can sucessfully be sent to Earth.
"The flyby of Titan was expected to go smoothly in space, but bad weather on Earth could affect Cassini's transmissions to the Deep Space Network, scientists said.
Cassini has only one chance to send data back to Earth before it is overwritten with data from its next set of observations, scientists said."
I am one of those the article it talking about. I tend to lean conservative, but I've been totally turned off by Bush. In fact, I made the decision early on not to give my vote to Bush.
So now what? Do I vote for Kerry? Well, that is no better. That leaves me with Badnarik.
What people don't realize, though, is that Badnarik will not cost Bush the election. Bush already lost my vote. My choice is only between Kerry and Badnarik. That is the irony of the whole thing. Do I vote for a liberal or a libertarian, even though I might lean conservative?
It's funny how people twist the idea of libertarianism. Basically, libertarians believe that the government is already too big and really should not pass laws unless liberty is infringed upon. In general, government is too big, tends to spend too much money and mess things up, even if it has good intentions. It is a pretty simple idea.
For some reason, however, people equate libertarianism with lawlessness, and that is not the case. Libertrians have very strong feelings about property, ownership, and privacy. If you steal, murder, or destroy property, you are still punished. On the flip side, they really frown upon the idea of "victimless crimes."
As someone with libertarian leanings, I am FOR the spyware law. I think spyware has gotten out of hand and personal liberties ARE infringed upon. It is one of those situations where intervention is warranted.
For example, if I get in my car and it is hijacked to only go where the hijackers want it to go, if I can only take the food out of the refrigerator that hijackers want me to take out, if my television is hijacked to only play the hijacker's content, if someone is rummaging around in my bill box at home to find account numbers, those are all attacks on personal freedom and liberties. They are NOT victimless crimes.
My computer sitting in my home IS my personal property. It should be protected the same way. It is that simple and also fits in with a libertarian view, IMHO.
Re-reading my own post, how many times can I say the words "sad loss." Oh well. I Should have read it over once it before I posted it. Can anyone guess what my point was.:)
Even Good Guys Are Leaving Tech

Careers After Tech?

· Score: 2, Interesting
Everyone seems to be saying "good riddance" to the people leaving the tech sector, but what is sad about the recent turn down is even really good people are leaving technical fields. I can think of several people from the two companies that I worked for that closed their doors last year.
One in particular started out as a sys admin for both companies and eventually went on the lead the entire IT departments for them. After the last company shutdown, he had had enough. He just started law school this semester. That is a sad loss to the industry. He was one of the best. In fact, I still call him up for advice when messing around on my home network.
I guess for me, I'm torn. Part of me is jealous and the other part is sad for the loss. I'm jealous because I wish I could simply say goodbye to the godforsaken industry. However, I could never do that because I simply do not know anything else. But, mostly I'm just sad for the loss. I hate to see good people leave.
Thank God! We need less memory leaks.

It is an odd election. That is for sure.
