I don't remember too many details, but I do recall when the human genome was first completed, I recall reading somewhere that it would take something like 40 dual-layer DVD's to hold all the information. Now since there is only 4 different pieces of data that need to be recorded, maybe it could be compressed. Thats two bits per letter instead of eight, right? That would still only bring it down to 10 dual-layer DVD's.
