I think the people who are suggesting this type of treatment use the word "suffocate" as a type of pillow for the extremely snesitive house wives who feel the need to take their kid to the emergency room over a splinter.
But really i think that it kills the skin rather than suffocating it. Like when you put a badn aid on for a long period of time, when it is removed your skin is whiter and your able to remove layers wihtout causing the skin to break and bleed.
