No that is not entirely correct. America either through inaction or action will interfere with the internal affairs of other nations due to its sheer size. Yes it intereferes actively more than necessary, but that is not the real problem.

The real problem is America is very short sighted. 5 years is a long time for America. This leads them to apply short term solutions to long term problems. It results in America making a rod for its own back (for example the taliban, iraq, iran).

This is doubly troubling for Sony. The developers are likely to build cross platform games, which means they won't be taking full advantage of the cell processor. In other words most games will look similar on the PS3 and Xbox 360, which removes one of the major advantages of the PS3.

Frankly, at least in the US, we've been getting off way too easy on gas taxes for way too long, and it's gotten to be a pretty serious issue. So tax the hell out of gas, use the money to pay off some of our goddamn national debt, and let the market sort out the new dominant fuel.

Part of the problem with making petrol your dominant fuel is it becomes self perpetuating. The US does not (in general) have good public transport systems, particularly rail. Why? Everyone drives. The more people drive, the more people need roads. Roads = investment in petrol based infrastructure rather than rail based infrastructure. You would need people to say, "hey that money we spent on roads, lets throw it away and spend the same amount again on a rail network". I see that as really likely.

Under the current system (road infrastructure), if taxes were raised on petrol the people who would be hardest hit would be those who can least afford it.

It does say something about Sony. It says people prefer Sony's last gen console (at that a price point/feature set) to their current console. I would say that is a combination of two major factors: price and the number (and price) of games available.
