My point, however, is that an immense number of truly great games are produced in Japan but never released in North America because the U.S. gaming public wouldn't have the good taste to buy them. This wouldn't be a problem, except for regional lockouts, and mod chips address this problem handily.
Would someone remind me why console makers even use regional lockouts?
