Label me as a cynic if you wish, but often I feel that the biggest problem the US has isn't too few people voting in elections, but rather too many.

To be honest with you if you can't be troubled to drive (walk) typically less than a mile to vote on election day, then what hell good is your vote anyways. You certainly are incapable of making an informed decision, if you are that lazy. It is so painfully easy to vote already, without online voting. It takes me more effort to go to the grocery store. I certainly have to drive further. Yet I do that once a week. Why is it a hardship to go to the polls a couple times a year (at most). We don't need online voting in the US. What we need is an informed, freedom-loving electorate.

Ralph Nader scares me to death. IMO if he get's elected it will be the worst thing posible for the US. If you go to their site (http://www.greenparty.org) you will find that they are more about socialism than enviromentalism. Why not vote for a candidate that stands for personal freedom, Like Harry Browne.

  5. Libertarianism and Open Sounce not opposites on Cyberselfish: Technolibertarianism · · Score: 1

I really don't understand why the reviewer thinks that Libertarianism doesn't work with Open Source.
Libertarianism is about the individual doing what they want without infringing on the rights of others. Open Source is about individuals choosing to cooperate to create some really cool software, of their own free will. The key word here is choice. Libertarianism = choice. Participation in open source project is totally voluntary, which makes open source totally compatible with Libertarianism.

Mars probably not. However I would love to move to the moon. On weekends I could come home and visit the family. :-)

Seriously, one thing that most people forget is that to settle space in any serious way one of the first steps necessary is to settle the Moon. The moon has a gravity well that requires 1/20 the energy to climb out of. As well as the regolith on the surface of the moon has most of the materials we need to further exploration of space. We need to concentrate more on this than mars today.

I've carried an m16 in defense of the US. I would do so again at need. The only thing I can say to you is what is the point defending freedom if you have none. Paraphrasing from great men of the past. "Idiots who would surrender liberty for safety, will end up with neither."

I have no desire to exist at the whim of the US government.

I'm sure every baptist church, catholic cathederal, and mormon temple has a gas chamber in the basement. (note: sarcasm being used here). I think you are way off. Because somebody is quiet and they want to save me, doesn't mean they want to shove me in a gas chamber.
