Why does Mac Os X Update for clients do not update Apache and stuff like that?
I wonder why is this so. Since ALL Mac Os X comes with Apache installed. And other server (daemons). Why do they just release those update in their Mac Os X Server Update?
I know 10.3.7 didn't include Apache update, but earlier ones certainly did.
The beta have been circulating in bittorrent networks for a few weeks. I always wonder how they get it. Or it is a thing which is done purposefully by Apple Computers.
You are right.
It is better to get an eMac if anyone wants Mac Os X but on a tight budget. Today's eMac has impressive processing power. PowerPC G4 is a very good processor for those who can't afford PowerPC G5 like me.
Although I am a Linux user myself. I recommend you to go for Mac Os X. Get a Power Mac G5 machine with those new nvidia cards. And wait for Mac Os X.4 (Tiger) to come out.
It has this thing call core pixel. It uses the power of nvidia cards to do processing of the image manipulation calculations. Which is really fast, cause this cards are made to do number huge number crunching specific to signal processing algorithms.
And of course Mac Os X have lots of cool PRO software for it.
By the way, am a Mac user myself.
Don't use Windoze!
Even RealPlayer and such programs comes with annoyance wear if not spywear. All the programs want to put themself to start on boot-up. What the hack!
I had this happen to a Proton car. There is no electronic control in this car.
I had to practically control the car by pressing on the brakes all the time. It is an automatic transmission car. Can't go very far with it.
Called a mechanic and he found out what is the problem. The problem was that a washer (piece of circular metal plate) at the plunger was broken. And therefore, after the accelerator has been released, the plunger do not get pull up again by the spring.
Just want to share a story,
There is once a father and his son who owns a donkey. They were walking towards a village with the son riding the donkey and the father towing it. When they entered the village, the people starts critizing the son for being a useless son.
They decided to go into the village again later but this time the father is riding the donkey and the son tow them. In the village, the villagers start commenting that the father is a cruel father for letting the son tow the donkey while he rides it.
They thought for a while and when into the village again; but this time both tow the donkey behind them. Guess what? The villagers call them stupid. Donkeys are to be ride.
In the end, both of them carried the donkey.
Think about it..
Oh I do.
But my watch died recently. Being depending on my mobile phone since.
Damn, need to get a "REAL" job.
Anyway, I don't get stability problem with 2.5.* kernels. Which is really great.
Yeah! that is what I had in mind. And it cost MUCH cheaper. But you will have a few problems which CAN be solved.
1. Condensation of water.
This can be threated with, NOT opening the freezer. And placing dehumidifier in the freezer with your computer for sometime before you power on the freezer.
2. Your mouse, keyboard, monitor, network, and power cables needs to exit. Other then accessing your cdrom and floppy.

Get a PowerBook if you can afford it. I am using an iBook now, but wish I am on a PowerBook. Downloading 26Mbyte on a dial-up connection is a pain.
I use Slackware full time on my desktop. Am waiting to switch to FreeBSD 5.3 when I have a new harddisk.

Yes Mac Os X runs on x86. PearPC is the answer.
Though I don't see the point of it.

Anybody tried CRUX PPC?
It is small and neat. BSD like /etc/rc.d scripts.
The ISO disk is only about 280Mbyte

If I am paid US$1 trillion.

Anyway, the chip morphing thing doesn't morph like a caterpillar to a butterfly.

Wonder how much DDOS it can take?
What about slackintosh?
I'm waiting to put my whole CPU into a freezer and run from there :)
