This is where theory and real life collide. While technically correct, the amount of time it will take to lose 21 million bitcoin will far surpass the need for bitcoin. Also the ones that are left are infinitely divisible. A bitcoin is just a whole unit.
Along these lines, I once heard someone say that asking what the world needs is the wrong question. You should ask yourself what you are passionate about, then do that, because what the world needs is people with more passion.
I for one welcome that an economist has put it out there. I am not for "organs for cash" but at some point somebody with the power to initiate change will put it on the table and I think its best to have the discussion now. Nobody should be skewered for putting an idea out there, no matter how terrible the idea is. If people actually start thinking about it now they will be better prepared if the idea ever gets any traction.
I built an 8in Dob back in 2004 using the plans from the San Fransisco Sidewalk Astronomers. You can stargaze with others using fancy electronic scopes but the interest always turns to the homemade one. A worthwhile project for anyone who enjoys astronomy.
Almost forgot, don't forget the WDlxTV Remote for Android. That thing is great and pretty much makes using the included physical remote a painful experience.
I have a WD TV Live as well. It works well enough allthough I have had no luck with Netflix. I can still watch netflix, bu I am having problems making it use the entire screen (16x9) for movies. I stream video, pictures, music via an SMB share to a linux box in the basement.
I am sure all the folks that put time into a Myth box or have a full pc running XBMC have setups that will kick this things ass, but for $100 and 10 minutes of my time to setup, it is good enough.
Ya he is saying the feds shut down 'silk road' (a browser) and then silk road 2 (another browser?) popped up (and subsequently closed). Comedy gold I tell you.
No, this is the totally wrong approach. You should never give your passwords to your supervisor and you should sure as hell not write it anywhere for the secretary to access. Your supervisor should have the necessary delegation to request a password reset of your accounts if you are indisposed. As for the original question from the submitter you can't lump in all passwords into the same category. Some can be easily reset with an email as long as someone can access your email if needed (slashdot, netflix etc etc). Low level stuff can be saved in a Truecrypt container accessible to your wife/brother/sister or whatever with a hard copy in your safety deposit box.
For higher level stuff like your banking information, your Executor or Power of Attorney (heaven forbid slobber slobber) could go to your bank with the proper legal documents and medical/death certificate and be provided access. Never give your passwords to your lawyer, jesus! Not saying that all lawyers are psychopaths but many psychopaths become lawyers.
Why would I hate that? It's pretty obvious and and would never become ubiquitous. You won't see all kinds of people wearing these things downtown. You don't really get it do you. You just don't see the problem with Google Glass which is totally different then this. Glass is going to evolve to the point where you won't even be able to distinguish them from regular glasses. Oh did you think I was totally against being caught in a video at some point in my life? What I hate is the idea of being swept into recordings on a daily basis. Glass as it is today is just a prototype for what it could potentially become. But hey, there are alot of other things I don't like in the world and I am sure life will go on.
Class-based? Seriously? Everybody just pining for Glass and we hate anyone who has it because we don't? I will have you know that I can afford a rainbow of Glass colored frames and I still do not care for this technology and prefer to not be around people wearing it. Not everybody records you without your knowledge, but sooner or later there is going to be one douche who just can't help themselves. They would never stick a phone or a camcorder in your face but will happily record away with their glasses.
The elitists are out in full force today. Ya the submission is nothing new to many of us but instead of ripping submitter a new one why not share your knowledge with him. Back in 97 I bought Oreilly's Linux in a Nutshell reference book. That book is still on my desk today, beaten up an tattered but sill useful.
This is the truth. I have always found that the best in my profession love what they do. The ones always whining about not enough training on the job or in class are the ones that are least effective. They have no joy in their heart for this. You want to learn? Then go, learn. There has never been a better time then the present day, with all the resources we have right at our fingertips to engage your mind.

Jesus killed sinners? I must have fallen asleep during that sermon.

"....sometimes, even computer guys don't want another computer around."

100% this.

Much hash, so fashion, wow! :-P

Ya. Ow... The stupid, it burns!
Then why not just set your mental filter to ignore it. If you don't believe in Bitcoin that is fine, that is your option.
And they are well hidden in the palm of your hand.

What? My dogecoins are going to make me rich.
Would fit with the Laugh It's Funny icon.
Well it's a good thing some of us remain skeptical. You just make it too easy. This isn't about Google, I would feel the same about it if it were .
Yes I could actually, but your mind is already made up so what is the point.

Don't be glib. There is a difference and you know it.
Woops I read that wrong.

Happy New Year fellow neckbeards! ;-)
