well, my personal opinion is that XCode sucks.. I use Vim most of the time for programming. And in which case, there are already keys for coping and pasting, so an extra 29 keys doesn't help me much;-)
this is a joke since it is actually making coping and pasting MORE difficult. currently, highlighting text auto copies it, and clicking the third mouse button pastes it. (or combo of 1st and 2nd, for those not privilaged enough to own a three button mouse) pressing a keyboard key means extra work.
well, quite honestly, aside from these "features" which are implemented in other software and was indeed done a long time before MS, I prefer not to use them.. I can guarentee that I can code faster using good old Vi, than a well seasoned windows programmer can in VS...
on another note, I have been working on a C application, intended to be platform independent.. so I wrote 2 GUI's one in GTK, and one with the windows SDK.. having no experience with either, i found that the gtk interface took me 2 weeks, while the windows interface took me 5.5 weeks!! I could also mention i didnt use glade, and had an equal amount of resources(books) on each

I don't honestly see what so difficult:
What u have developed thus far, you should open-source
What u will add to the framework that will be useful to other potential users of it, you should also open-source (this is why they r funding yer open- source development)
What u develop specifically for the clients' implementation of yer framework, Should be their's, propiatary, and not included in the framework.
okay so i get the basic concept of how it stays in place and is balanced and all, but what about the thing that climbs up it, wouldnt it still be subject to gravitational forces and require lots of energy to move upward along this ribbon...???
I have been using linux for many, many years, linux is far supierior to windows in every way....but other companies support windows...other companies write software for windows... sure i use linux for programing and browsing and most general purposes.. but when it comes to music production, there is no decent equivilant to reason software, or cubase, or...*the list goes on and on*
also there is a defenite lack of games on linux although this is improving...
the last thing is the lack of device support...(actually its incredibly impressive, considering most companies arenot writing the drivers themselves)...also how cool is it to have your os automatically detect and use the correct drivers without even promting the user(or making you reboot...) very cool i must say...
over and out
they also havn't done it as cool as others: http://www.vcarious.com/Explorer/Photos
