But I doubt they bought their Ford trucks under an Open Licensing Agreement.

And maybe the License Agreement isn't "fair"? Well, then K-Mart shouldn't have bought them.

I'm not pro-Microsoft, but I still don't understand why it is that every business decision Microsoft makes is "unfair". Netscape takes Microsoft to court for "unfair business practices" and everyone screams, "Way to go, Netscape!" But K-Mart does something illegal (infringement of their Open Licensing Agreement) and Microsoft challenges it and suddenly their the Big, Bad, Evil Empire.

Its not like Microsoft was handed a monopoly - they produced a popular product (maybe not a good one, but a popular one). They used that leverage to earn more and more market share. And despite continued flaws in the majority of their products, they continue to sell software by the truckloads.

People aren't forced to buy their products. . . for the most part, people buy Microsoft because it is accessible and accepted.

I'm all for competition. . . in the longrun, it benefits the consumers. But it gets tiresome that rather than spend money marketing products, Microsoft competitors would rather just go to court and say, "Mr. Government, mean, ol' Microsoft is being unfair again!"
