I am in the same boat. So here is my situation. I hope to be getting a call on Monday about a web programmer position that I want really bad. It will most likely start out at $27K. I live in the Mid-Ohio Valley so living on that is not a problem.
The way I see it, in the current times, if you have a job in your field of interest and are learning things and expanding your knowledge, you are in good shape.

this is completely insane. the way i seee it, morals shouldnt have have had anything to do with the situation. business is business and charity/morals or whatever the hell was thought to be on the line here is charity/morals or whatever the hell was thought to be on the line here!

Not sure what the expected date is, but I do know that the installer is quite usable in it's current state. I have actually been using it since beta1.
