But one question. Though its been made terribly obvious to us that it's two drives, does it appear as two drives to your computer? If so, how does it manage that?
Agreed! My car is an 1981 Mercedes 240D, and it is simply a pleasure to drive. Though you sacrifice some pickup, the smoothness and low-cost of a proper diesel car are hard to beat.
While I agree with most of what you said, I believe that to be "betting the company", Microsoft would have to do something far more radical with this.
After all, with 40 billion dollars in the bank, it would have to be a TOTAL piece of crap, which Longhorn will almost certainly not be.
only a few days away? After all, it seems as thought the Phoenix developers were riding the 1.2 stability push on the path to 0.5. And, according to the roadmap, 0.5 is scheduled for a November release.
On a semi-related note, isn't it about time for the Thunderbird stand-alone mail client to be released?
Absolutely! So many slashbots state that "I never would have bought the music anyway, so it's not lost
revenue"
What they fail to realize is that if you don't want to pay for it, then you, GASP! don't get to view, listen, or use use that content!
>>DVD (re)writeable units just need to get faster (4x is WAAAAAAY slow.)
I hope you make that assertion with the knowledge that DVD 4x != CD 4x. An "x" on a DVD is much faster than 150 MB/s. Anyone know the exact figure?

Not necessarily. While it is obvious that this case is on track to the supreme court, I think that tommorrow's ruling is going to be a simple "no".
This will leave the DOJ to hammer out a new proposal, which will probably be to Microsoft's liking.
If the new proposal is more punitive to MS, then we will likely see the Supreme Court appeal.
