They are using median and average really loosely there, and comparing them in ways that don't make sense. It's a good advertisement for the website owner, though.
Yeah, that's true....there is some beautiful old architecture designed to take advantage of natural light to illuminate areas. But it's a relic now because you can do so much more with electric lights.
When calculating damages for copyright law, you're allowed to include anyone who might possibly have bought the thing if it weren't for the infringement. Not realistic, but that's how the law is.
There's no particular reason to listen to programmers on the topic. It's most likely a mix of the typical Seattle thinking, a smattering of facts from online, and a bit of logic. Same as what you find on this website. I don't expect to find a careful, studied examination of the issue.
I know.net is not popular around these parts, but the geek outs on dotnetrocks is really cool. Richard is awesome at reading up on specific topics, and that show really has some cool insight into gmo. They even made a followup in may. Also worth listening too.
.net is fine, but there is no particular reason to listen to.net programmers about GMO food.
The goal of Tesla is to get people on the road, so they can build a huge data set, and use that dataset to improve self-driving cars, to the point that the cars can be fully autonomous.
As systemd absorbs more and more things, and more things start to depend on systemd, it's a simple problem of manpower: Unless your distro is run by a multi-billion dollar company that has the resources to undo the damage caused by systemd, you may have no choice but to adopt it.
I don't think it's likely to be a problem, most systemd components are being replaced by non-systemd components (like ConsoleKit2, or elogind). No one seems really excited to depend heavily on systemd because of its limitations, so I expect systemd might remain nothing more than an init system into the future. It is ok as an init system, and doesn't prevent people from using other init systems, so I don't see a huge problem there.
It's a bad idea......the drugs can still only be supplied by illegal means, so organized crime will be providing all the drugs. An increase in demand only increases the power of the drug cartels, and we see violence increase in Mexico (and America) as a result.
If you're going to decriminalize consumption, you need to legalize production and transportation. Anything else makes the world a worse place.
A) They don't work all that well (try heading home without GPS......good luck)
B) circle/hover/land/head for home isn't behavior that is going to win dogfights.
Mainly because we don't have the technology for completely self-flying planes yet. Drones require a wireless link to a pilot, and an even more direct link for takeoff and landing. So a good jammer and the self-flying plane is lost, whereas the human just can't talk to home.
It's true macros are a lousy replication of Lisp macros, but they are turing complete, so you should be able to say they are a poorly specified implementation at least.
You should never spend more than 20% of you annual income on a car.
Where did that rule come from?
So for around $3000 I have a nice, reliable car
It's not a reliable car, it could break any moment.

Some people trade stock based on tweets.
Right. In all the nationalism and flag-waving that is often displayed on the 4th of July,
There's a difference between "I like my country" and "I want to conquer other countries." One of those is good, and one of those is problematic.
I don't think we hate on China. We worry about our Chinese brothers/sisters and hope someday things will get better for them.

Most people understand "autopilot" to be something that keeps an airplane flying in a straight line.
I don't think most people understand that.

Reminds me of the speedup loop.

I don't think they trust Netflix, though

So it is the government's fault, just a different branch of the government.
That's a good point, and no one wanted it then. People have changed?
every cruise missile is a self-flying plane.
Not really....
For a human, sure. No drones can do it very well (and even then, dead reckoning for a sailor is not really effective).

Yeah. A good jammer and it's game-over for the automatic pilot.
I wrote C++ library code > 20 years ago which is still actively maintained as part of complex, commercial server software.
This feature is drastically undervalued.
