  1. So Research on How Microsoft Can Lock Linux Off Windows 8 PCs · · Score: 1

Then if the seller/manufacturer doesn't include the key, don't buy from them, and always remember to ask before buying... or build your own. :p

  2. Original NES to this... on Gamecube Finally Plays GBA Games · · Score: 1

Probably have to work on the original NES itself... if that's what you're trying to do...

By what's being talked about here it sounds like this adapter will make the GC backwards compatible with everything Nintendo... I thought it was just for GBA, GB, and GBC games.

  3. That Poor Mac! on Ants Invade iBook · · Score: 1

I'd almost feel tempted to shed a tear for the poor sap!

Especially if it was one of those bulletproof iBooks... it just seems kind of ironic that it's not ant proof.

  4. Beats me! on Go Go Gadget Minisaw · · Score: 1

*sighs* Somebody just e-mailed me about this... I want his outfit! Here's what I generally carry: 2 flashlights... one mini-mag-lite, one medium mag-lite... if there was a way to get the mega one on me I would! 11 Dice. I'm a gamer... often over lunch these are needed for some game or another with my friends. Swiss Army Knife. The brand says it all. Small buck knife... can never have too many knives! Mini-leatherman scissors, etc. This thing has screwdrivers, knives (more knives!) and can opener to name a few. Pens of varying colors (Red, Green, Black.) Mechanical Pencil. Notecards... how many times have you needed paper when you didn't expect it? Glasses screwdriver. Fingernail clippers. Those are all just on my person... I carry with me in my school bag along with books: A plastic cup. An umbrella. A Handspring Visor (cheap product plug!) A graphic calculator. A Visor keyboard (this way I don't need a laptop.) A deck of cards (just regular cards... poker cards, one could say, though that's not usually the game I play.) Highlighter.

  5. Re:Of course... on Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets Leaked · · Score: 2, Interesting

Like another thread above about the mpaa the reason the rhetoric "leaked" is even being used is so that they [mpaa] and for that matter the riaa, can both say "see, there's a problem, where are the laws to protect us from these nasty pirates! It was leaked before we could make our full profit!" The problem is, at least in the US, these people have a large voice thanks to lobbying and campaign donations. It doesn't even occur to anybody in government the hows of the pirating of the music or movie ie. radio broadcast recorded and then shared--basically Napster... or a telesync recording where some dolt carried a camcorder into the theatre and then hooked it to his/her computer. The hows aren't important... the fact that the mpaa and riaa are no longer in control of their copywrited works is the entire problem in their eyes. If there were no pirating, riaa would still be losing money because they're in need of some new talent to push, and the mpaa will still make profit because people have to see these movies right when they come out.

  6. not at all! on Is Mac OS X Slow? · · Score: 1

It's a knee-jerk... has to be. I've got an old G4 500 that I just installed X.2 on... it runs so much faster than it did under 9.2 that it isn't even funny. Faster load times, faster even in Classic than Classic was when running as my boot OS. While some programs may be a problem (iChat) I haven't had any serious issues of yet. This is just another hit against Apple and the GHz myth... Tonight, I'm installing it on a 466 G3 machine... we'll see how THAT works... but I expect it'll have a speed boost.
