I'm pretty sure they don't eat every species of shark, and even if they did, there aren't enough people eating shark fin soup to eat them all. It's become unfashionable. It's also illegal in places like the US to "fin" sharks; they have to take the entire shark, which makes it a lot more sustainable and less wasteful.
I have it on a Compaq C306US with 1 GB of RAM and a 1.73 GHz Celeron. It seemed impressive at first, but the daily Defender signature update brings the machine to its knees. Seriously, the mouse pointer will not even move, and when I was actually able to bring up Perfmon, CPU and disk were both at 100%. That's unusable. I guess the answer is to install another security package, but that's a serious WTF. In 2015, it would be nice if Microsoft had heard of I/O throttling.
The audio also doesn't work unless you disable it, then re-enable it in device manager. I reported this bug with every previous build to no avail.
I wouldn't complain, but Microsoft claimed that every Vista-capable PC could run Windows 10, and that appears to be false.
Seriously. Could have used Xmodem. Might have even had Zmodem in there. It's super slow-- who cares. It will get the job done. A Win 98 box with no USB tells me it could have even been upgraded from DOS, so it might have had the INTERLNK program on there. Heck, I'd figure out a way of dumping files via COPY to the LPT1 if someone could write the program on the destination box with an IEEE1284 cable between the two. Would have cost less than $30K.
Yeah, that. Can't get a mortgage with no credit. Kind of the flaw in your plan. Cars, boats, and unimproved rural land can certainly all be paid for in cash by someone in the middle class, if they have the time and willpower. Houses? Only if you have a very particular set of skills.
Plug something unexpected in and security shows up, not the admin.
You really want the guys who don't know what they're looking at to show up instead of the admin? How about the admin shows up, WITH security if it's something highly suspicious like a WAP suddenly appearing... and of course, immediately being blocked due to an unregistered MAC.
I don't see how all that could break just when replacing an ALTERNATOR. I think your body control module (BCM) and maybe your main computer (ECM) were damaged at some point-- and that doesn't happen from just your alternator dying and allowing your battery to go flat. The shop that replaced your alternator should have fixed everything for free, because they probably broke it.
In 1999, Worldcom already owned UUNet, and MCI had already merged with Worldcom. After the accounting scandal, they just changed their name from Worldcom to MCI as part of a public image move, I imagine. The first round of layoffs was pretty much directed by the courts as part of the consent decree.
I don't think he embezzled a billion dollars. He conspired to overstate revenue and profits in order to keep stock prices up and thus boost his reputation and performance bonuses. Regardless, it's fraud.
I'm sure Microsoft has great lawyers, but I still think they might be opening themselves for liability on this one. By forcing updates, they're taking personal responsibility for the maintenance of your system. If one of their patches bricks your PC or causes you to lose data, they are responsible. I don't think "as is" applies anymore.
No, there are two more ways.
- You are on a multi-lane road, and the vehicle in the adjacent lane decides to change lanes in front of you and immediately hit the brakes.
- A car merging from an on-ramp merges directly in front of you and hits the brakes.
Try logging a million miles, as these cars have, and see how many times you are rear-ended.
These results don't surprise me, as I (and other safe drivers I know) am often rear-ended. Other drivers run lights, and expect others to do so all the time-- that's one reason. Another reason might be that I have a black car. But it also has huge taillights (Olds Alero), so...
I was rear-ended three times over eight years. That's about when I started looking in my rear-view mirror to see if the driver behind was going to stop in time, and roll forward a little bit if possible. Seriously, I avoided two potential minor rear-end hits this way... they missed me by inches. I'm not sure if I want to program driverless cars to do this.
then why don't you pay double for your gasoline? you are getting a 50% discount thanks to government subsidies
Yeah... the government already took tax money from me and gave it to oil companies. Obviously, that is not a free market, but I won't fault you for not understanding that because it's above the level of your third grade Social Studies class. By the way, your mom says it's time for dinner.

We'll leave you alone in your basements while the rest of us go to work. By the way, your mom says there are openings at Burger King.

That sounds similar to what happened at Microsoft with the Bedlam DL3 incident.
Maybe start a petition on "We the People" with as many recent movie names in it as possible? Plus links to the infamous infringer, IMDB.

That's kind of where I am. If AC had the required experience, why did Mr. Fire Engine Face suggest he play around with a Windows network at home?
Well, you have to retire from something.
Yeah, that. Can't get a mortgage with no credit. Kind of the flaw in your plan. Cars, boats, and unimproved rural land can certainly all be paid for in cash by someone in the middle class, if they have the time and willpower. Houses? Only if you have a very particular set of skills.
Wow, you told him!
Seems like it should have been part of the plan, right? He should not have been any part of the ticket buying process, regardless of the law.
Your life has become tiresome. Now touch my monkey.

That's why an autopsy is being employed-- there was no PHYSICAL evidence of suicide. Cops aren't medical experts. Duh.

Um... you're supposed to dim (dip) your high beams when you approach another vehicle. Yeah, I get pissy when someone doesn't do this.

I wouldn't either, if I had to look at it through the hyperbole-tinted glasses you seem to wear.

So no true Scotsman, then. Got it.
How do you a pull a patch after the PC is unbootable? They put one out just two years ago that did that if you had Kaspersky.
